Nelli
Nelli, a 70-lb bundle of energy and heart, hails from a distinguished bloodline stretching across the Midwest. With her incredible drive and determination, Nelli excels as a duck dog, retrieving tirelessly throughout the season. From teal to geese, she’s tackled it all, and her smaller build makes her the perfect companion in the boat. Though her coat is often mistaken for red, it’s truly a rich, deep shade of the classic yellow Labrador.
You’ll find Nelli spending her winters in the duck blinds of Virginia and Maryland’s eastern shore, where her high drive is balanced by a strong desire to please and soak up praise. Around the family, she’s affectionately known as "Mo"—a playful nod to her "fear of missing out" because Nelli never wants to miss a moment of the action. She’s always ready to join the fun but has an impeccable off switch, effortlessly transitioning from fieldwork to playing gently with our young child.
Nelli’s story is close to our hearts. Mark Jr. dreamed of owning a Labrador like her after seeing a photo of her mother, Kimber, as a pup. That dream became reality, and Nelli has more than lived up to the legacy. She’s not only a skilled hunting partner but also a cherished member of our family.
